Ms. Thompson assists in the preparation of patent applications, reviews complex issues related to patent validity or infringement, and drafts claims. Ms. Thompson leverages her in-depth technical knowledge related to electrical and software technologies.

Prior to her work as a Patent Engineer, Ms. Thompson worked as both an Electrical Engineer, and later a Data Engineer at a Fortune 500 company. She has experience in a variety of areas including, RF Systems, Embedded Systems, IoT Device Management, Data Analytics, Database Management, Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work with their in-house counsel to provide legal research pertaining to licensing agreements for open-source software and data privacy compliance.

Ms. Thompson graduated from Youngstown State University, where her studies comprised of Digital and Analog circuitry, Signals and Systems, Antenna Design, Computer Architecture, Control Systems, and RF circuitry. Her master’s thesis focused on power optimization for semiconductor devices to improve energy harvesting efficiency. Ms. Thompson is currently a part-time evening student at The University of Akron School of Law.
